ETC EOS Now Imports Color Measurements from GDTF

ETC's EOS software (since version 3.3.6) now imports and uses color measurement data embedded in GDTF files to drive its color tools.
EOS has supported GDTF files since 3.2.4. The 3.3.6 release extends that support by importing emitter spectral data from GDTF definitions and using those measurements directly in EOS’s color workflows and tools.
A new Color Configuration option is available in the patch for all additive mixing fixtures. From a drop-down menu, users can choose either the color profile included with the fixture or one of several predefined emitter profiles.
The relative energy of each emitter can be adjusted by dragging it up or down in the spectrum display. Direct editing of individual emitter SPD values is not supported within EOS but can be done by importing a GDTF file with custom spectral data.
Per-emitter spectral profiles let EOS calculate correct color channel values and reproduce gel colors more faithfully than using generic or estimated values.
It also enables reliable matching to physical gel swatches and easier recreation of legacy filter palettes, and harmonize colors across fixtures that have different spectral characteristics.
When a GDTF contains color measurements for a fixture, EOS marks that fixture in the patch so users can see at a glance which fixtures include high-fidelity color data.
Measured profiles can be copied between fixture definitions, simplifying patch preparation for multiple similar fixtures.
This new update makes GDTF an ideal companion to EOS’s color tools, delivering practical workflow savings.
